 Freshmen:

  • Quarter 1 - Title: Test it, Solve it, Sell it
    • Essential Question: How do you solve a problem...and sell it?
  • Quarter 2 - Title: Old Problems...STEM Solutions
    • Essential Question: How do you use STEM solutions to solve problems?
  • Quarter 3 - Title: An Elemental Impact
    • Essential Question: What are the impacts of the material world we've created?
  • Quarter 4 - Title: Check Yourself
    • Essential Question: Why do the choices I make matter?

 

Sophomore:

  • Quarter 1 - Title: Conversations on Change: A Podcast 
    • Essential Question: What do we gain or lose when things change? And so what?
  • Quarter 2 - Title: Pieces of Me: Body Biography 
    • Essential Question: What makes up who I am and how much does that determine my future?
  • Quarter 3 - Title: Ew, What's in There? 
    • Essential Question: How do I, as a public health servant, identify, research, and solve public health problems?
  • Quarter 4 - Title: Agents of Change: License to Care
    • Essential Question: How do we respond—responsibly—to indifference?

 

Junior:

STEM Intro to Scientific Research focuses on students practicing the process of science (or engineering) with their own chosen research topic. Students build, test, and collect data that is shown at the Western Idaho Science and Engineering Fair for a chance to win prizes, prestige, and a spot at the International Science and Engineering Fair in May.

 

Senior:

STEM Exploratory Internship focuses on students learning the skills needed to move on to the next step after high school. This may mean they work on a passion project or internship at a local company, or volunteering at their chosen non-profit. This course may also fulfill senior project expectations for graduation requirements.
