About us:

The STEM academy is made up of students from all three high schools in the Nampa School District and excels at teaching the fundamentals of STEM subjects: science, technology, engineering, and math.

As a STEM Academy, the program focuses on project-based learning to support student learnings. These projects connect multiple classes together allowing students to take resources from everything they have learned and create distinct and creative products.

STEM students are gritty: they persevere through failure and get back up when they fall!

STEM believes that failure produces growth and grit. This means that as students learn STEM subjects, which can often be difficult and confusing, they do not need to worry about every mistake as they will have the opportunity to revise them in a mastery based learning system.

STEM students focus on skills and learning over just checking off boxes.

This means students are graded on specific skills and how those skills developed. This allows students to focus on growing in their learning with the freedom to make mistakes as they learn.

STEM students are curious.

This freedom to grow in their skills moves on to allowing students to explore STEM to their hearts content discovering new curiosities and interests. The STEM Academy offers more than just education but also a welcoming community for any student to find their place.
