ATTENDANCE KEYS & INFORMATION
CHS Attendance Goal is 92% For School Year
Student time in classes with your teacher is VERY IMPORTANT - Your goal should be to avoid getting any NCA’s (No Credit Awarded) in any class.
What is an NCA?
An NCA means the student has 5 or more absences in a class in a trimester. Remember students are only allowed to have 4 absences or less in a trimester. NCA means the student will not receive credit in that class due to attendance until the student completes the required learning that is needed with your teacher to recover that time.
Once the student has finished the required learning for the teacher(s), the student will take the slip back to the teacher for a signature, they will then determine how many class periods of work for time you have made up.
ADMINISTRATION APPROVED ABSENCES
Process For Student Attendance Support:
If there is an instance in which your student will not be able to attend school (ie. family vacation, college visits, club sporting events, rodeos, etc.), then there is a process to submit these absences for Admin Approval. It doesn't matter if a student is out 1 day or 7 days, we encourage families to submit the form for review.
If your student will be missing more than 8 days, please contact our school to make the necessary arrangements. 208-498-0571
*Admin approval will not count towards an NCA*
The important part is that any missed learning by the student needs to be completed and shown to their teachers. Parents/guardians will need to complete and submit the Admin Approved Absence Form. This will provide Admin with the reason for the student’s absence and allow for the consideration of administrative approval.
Parent/Guardian will be able to find the Admin Approved Absence Form using the link below. It is preferred that forms are completed PRIOR to the student being absent.
If you have any questions about this process or completing the form, please contact Bev Vickery, CHS Attendance Secretary at 208-498-0571 or email her at bvickery@nsd131.org.
