Stem Academy Four Year Plan

As a STEM student, you are required to take certain classes. 
 
Below is the list of courses required to be in the STEM Academy. If you are looking to find what you need to receive an Idaho STEM Diploma, please go to the STEM Action Center STEM Diploma Website.
 
Here is the list of required STEM courses by grade level:
 
Required Freshmen Courses
1. STEM Physical Science
2. STEM English 1-2 (Honors)
3. STEM Integrated Math
 
All STEM Freshmen are highly encouraged to pursue courses that are STEM-related and offered through our stellar Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
 
Required Sophomore Courses
1. STEM Biology
2. STEM English 3-4 (Honors)
3. STEM Integrated Math
 
All STEM Sophomores are highly encouraged to take STEM US History 1, but we also encourage our students who are interested in Advanced Placement (AP) courses to pursue these. STEM Sophomores are also encouraged to take STEM-related courses through our stellar Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
 
Required Junior Courses
STEM Juniors are expected to take AT LEAST one STEM designated course such as STEM Intro to Scientific Research, STEM English 5-6 (which includes a dual credit option), STEM Integrated Math, or STEM US History 2. 
 
To be eligible for a Idaho STEM Diploma, Juniors should highly consider taking a Science and Math course their Junior year. To receive a STEM Diploma, students need a minimum of 8 credits of Science and 8 credits of Math upon graduating.
 
Required Senior Courses
STEM Seniors are expected to take AT LEAST one STEM designated course such as STEM Exploratory Internship, or STEM English 7-8. 
 
To be eligible for a Idaho STEM Diploma, Seniors must have a minimum of 8 credits of Science and 8 credits of Math upon graduating. Along with this, students need 5 additional credits that are STEM focused to receive their diploma. For the full list of approved STEM courses, see here.
