INTRO TO THEATRE (Period 4A)
Course Description
This is an academic and performance course in the basic skills of Theatre Arts. Students will
learn about the many different aspects of the field, which must be combined in order to
create a theatrical production, such as pantomime, comedy and dramatic acting,
monologues, ensemble acting, Shakespeare, children’s theatre and auditioning. This is not solely an acting class. Some of the grading is subjective, but this is based on effort rather than
talent. This course also involves academic material, so be prepared to think, work, act, and
have fun all at the same time.
