Welcome to the health office!

Hi!  I'm Nurse Shannon.  I'm a registered nurse that really enjoys working with young people.
COVID-19   Why school is closed - Social distancing
As you are aware, schools are places where 100's of students and staff come each day.  There are sometimes large numbers of people in a small enclosed space.  The new coronavirus is spreading at an alarming rate.  Many young people will not become seriously ill but can spread the virus even without symptoms.  Older people and those with chronic health conditions are most vulnerable to developing a severe form of COVID-19.  Since there is no vaccine and no cure for COVID-19, the most effective tool we have to combat the spread is "social distancing".  Social distancing is deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness. Staying at least six feet away from other people lessens your chances of catching and spreading COVID-19.  Cancelling events, school, and limiting time in public places such as restaurants and stores help stop or slow down the spread of disease which will allow the health care system to more readily care for patients over time.
